General Approach for Modeling and Control of Multiphase PMSM Drives

This article presents a modeling approach and control strategy for multiphase surface-mounted permanent magnet synchronous machine drives. The mathematical model is completely general with respect to the parameters winding configuration. It also intrinsically considers effects of eventual constraints phase currents, generated from electrical connections among windings or resulting faults. current controller entirely formalized in variables domain. based on pseudoinverse decoupling algorithm linear decoupled controller. references are computed by means maximum-torque-per-ampere strategy, which can be easily adapted torque sharing purposes. proposed requires minimum changes system reconfigurations variations and, therefore, it suited both healthy faulty operations. An extensive set experimental results has been conducted validate several testing scenarios.
